Detroit in 2036 has built everyday life around android labor. When androids begin acting independently, the three playable leads experience the resulting crisis from different positions, allowing a choice in one story to take on a wider meaning.
Observation can change the options in front of you. Investigating a space gives context to decisions and conversations. Looking closely matters because the game is about the choices available in a particular situation, rather than offering unrestricted movement through the entire city.
Actions can change a character's fate. Dialogue choices sit alongside moments that demand a quick response. Outcomes can carry beyond the immediate exchange, making it useful to weigh what you know while accepting that a decision may have consequences you have not yet seen.
