INSIDE DIABLO IV STANDARD EDITION
Diablo IV combines a campaign across Sanctuary with character development that continues after the story. It is an action RPG for experimenting with the relationship between abilities, equipment and the next challenge.
Explore a world in the middle of a crisis. Quests, towns and major bosses connect the journey through Sanctuary as Lilith's influence spreads. You can follow that story alone or with friends. It gives the initial progression a narrative direction before the game opens into its longer-term challenges.
Turn a collection of items into a playstyle. Skills and loot work together to define how a character fights. Progress gives you more ways to specialize, while a useful equipment drop can encourage a different combination. The reward is refining a build you enjoy, rather than treating every item as only a higher number.
Keep testing the build after the campaign. The end game adds challenges such as Nightmare Dungeons and large World Bosses, alongside broader open-world activities. Different encounters put pressure on different parts of a build. Console couch co-op and online group play provide ways to continue that progression with others.
BEFORE YOU BUY
Diablo IV requires an internet connection even for a solo campaign. Choosing single-player does not turn it into an offline game.
The original base game released on June 6, 2023; later store packages and expansions have separate release dates.
Game requirements: PlayStationPS4 and PS5 versions are available; select access for the console you use.
The console game supports two local players and groups of up to four online. Online console multiplayer requires PlayStation Plus.
The base game remains distinct from separately sold expansion bundles; buying Standard does not grant their classes, regions or campaigns.
