INSIDE DOOM: THE DARK AGES
The Dark Ages takes the Slayer into a medieval conflict against Hell before the events of DOOM and DOOM Eternal. Its battlefields and older worlds place the origin story inside a more grounded style of combat.
Defense and aggression share a central tool. The Shield Saw sits beside weapons such as the Super Shotgun in the Slayer's arsenal. It gives the battlefield a different rhythm from constant aerial movement, with combat emphasizing standing your ground and forcing a way through the demon ranks.
Large levels leave secrets between confrontations. Ancient hellscapes and new realms broaden the route through the war. Looking around between encounters gives you reasons to explore the levels, rather than treating every space as only a corridor to the next group of enemies.
Customizable difficulty makes the campaign adjustable. The difficulty system lets you tune the challenge whether you are new to DOOM or returning to it. The campaign remains a solo action experience, so you can focus on learning its weapons and enemy patterns without keeping pace with a multiplayer group.
