INSIDE METAPHOR: REFANTAZIO
A journey to lift a prince's curse draws your protagonist and Gallica across a divided kingdom. The Royal Tournament gives the story its stakes, while daily decisions determine how the party prepares for what lies ahead.
Combine Archetype abilities to configure the party. Awaken Archetypes to gain abilities associated with different roles, then build a party around those strengths. Relationships and character development feed into the wider journey, giving combat preparation a connection to the people you spend time with.
Spend limited days on quests, dungeons, relationships and virtues. Spend days on quests, dungeon exploration and treasure hunting, then use other opportunities to strengthen bonds or develop virtues. Time management means pursuing one activity can delay another. Planning the schedule is part of preparing for the game's larger goals.
Mix real-time field action with turn-based battles. The battle system combines real-time field action with turn-based combat rather than committing entirely to one form. Travel by gauntlet runner connects towns and dungeons, where party customization and Archetype choices become useful against tougher opposition.

It is a new setting, not a Persona sequel or an expansion requiring another game.

THE DETAILS THAT MATTER
Yes. PlayStation Store lists a free Metaphor: ReFantazio - Prologue Demo for PS5. It is separate from this full-game offer.
Metaphor: ReFantazio offers preset difficulty levels, tutorial reminders and manual saves. PlayStation Store also lists pausing during gameplay and cinematics when playing offline. Secondary account access still requires an internet connection.
The PS4 and PS5 release date is October 11, 2024.
