INSIDE ONIMUSHA: WAY OF THE SWORD
Musashi's sword against the Genma
Way of the Sword combines a historical setting with supernatural opposition. Kyoto's shrines and temples become hostile ground under the Malice, and Musashi's search for strength gains a stranger purpose. The Oni Gauntlet connects his survival in battle with powers beyond ordinary swordsmanship.
Sword fights and rival duelists
Meet opponents who can answer your skill. Musashi faces Genma creatures as well as powerful adversaries with martial abilities to rival his own. The focus is close swordplay and reading an opponent in a confrontation. This gives the action a personal scale, with individual duels carrying as much weight as fighting through groups of enemies.
The Oni Gauntlet
Turn defeated Genma into greater power. The mystical gauntlet lets Musashi absorb Genma souls and use them to strengthen himself. Its abilities connect combat with growth, while the voice inside it adds a mystery to the journey. It is central to the new protagonist's fight, rather than simply a cosmetic reference to earlier Onimusha games.
Kyoto under the Malice
Explore familiar landmarks made threatening. Edo-period Kyoto provides the setting, including places such as Kiyomizu-dera Temple. The spreading Malice changes the capital's appearance and brings creatures from the underworld into it. Moving through these locations places the supernatural story in a recognizable city rather than an abstract sequence of arenas.
