UFC 5 links the condition of a fighter to the choices available as a bout develops. Striking and grappling share the Octagon with a damage system that can make a promising position harder to maintain.
Track how accumulated damage affects attributes and doctor checks. Cuts, bruising and swelling are tied to the blows a fighter absorbs. Significant injuries can prompt the referee to stop the action for a doctor's inspection. Protecting a damaged area and managing the remaining stamina matter beyond how the fighter looks.
Use the revised grappling and submission system without mini-games. The submission system uses updated grappling flow and animations instead of separate mini-games. Ground-and-pound elbows and other new strike animations broaden the action around it, giving fighters more ways to develop an attack on the mat.
Advance created fighters through skill-matched divisions and title chases. Online Career combines skill-based matchmaking with division progression and title chases. You can use a different created fighter in each of four divisions, letting distinct builds and customizations develop rather than relying on one fighter for every matchup.
